Amid uncertainty, they embrace curiosity, driving innovation, research, and transformative changes in healthcare practices. As the most trusted profession, nurses bring together key stakeholders to find solutions for seamless patient care. It's crucial to recognize nurses as integral partners in shaping national healthcare policies and redesigning systems. Nurses are catalysts for change, and expanding their influence will enhance advancements in healthcare. The nursing profession is at a pivotal moment, poised to lead healthcare redesign successfully. Nurses must be recognized as highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals and experts in patient-centered care, preventive care, evidence-based practices, care coordination, leadership theory, and evolving healthcare dynamics. This presentation will discuss how advanced degrees empower nurses to lead innovations, improve patient care, and drive meaningful change in the healthcare industry. 報告人簡介： Dr. Shields holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University, a Master’s in Nursing/Neonatal Nurse Practitioner from UCLA, and a Bachelor’s in Nursing. She is a licensed Clinical Nurse Specialist, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and School Nurse. Dr. Shields currently serves as Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program and Associate Professor at California Baptist University, where she teaches advanced practice and leadership courses. With extensive clinical experience in NICUs and pediatric care, she has led initiatives in neonatal discharge pathways, simulation training, and developmental care. A published author and frequent conference speaker, she has contributed to national guidelines and textbooks in neonatal nursing. Dr. Shields is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau and several professional nursing associations, continually advocating for evidence-based practice and innovation in nursing education and patient care.
